Rolex Oyster Perpetual Alternatives: Five Watches From $190

By TEEEMPUS · Published

There isn't much on an Oyster Perpetual's dial, and that's the point. The 41 mm version, reference 134300-0009, has a blue dial with batons, doubled at 3, 6 and 9, and no date, inside a smooth, domed bezel, on an Oyster bracelet. Rolex replaced the 124300 with this reference in 2025, and the new dial isn't a sunray: Rolex lays down six coats of lacquer, then varnishes and polishes them. It calls the colour Med blue, and in its photo the blue leans slightly toward teal. Inside is Rolex's automatic calibre 3230, with about 70 hours of power reserve, and it's water resistant to 100 metres.

Rolex's US site listed it at $7,050 in a copy of the page archived on 17 May 2026. The live page won't load for us, so that's the newest US price we could read.

We went through watches like the Rolex Oyster Perpetual on sale in the US today and kept five, from $190 to $2,400. Nearly every affordable blue steel watch we could check has a date window, and that's the main thing you give up here, because a dial with nothing on it but batons is the Oyster Perpetual's whole look. Each pick comes with what it gets wrong. Prices are regular US list prices from the brands' own US sites, not sale prices, checked on 1 November 2026. The photos are to scale, so if a watch looks smaller here, it is.

One of the five is marked as a homage, the watch world's word for a watch that follows a famous design on purpose, under its own name. If you came looking for a Rolex Oyster Perpetual homage, it's the Pagani Design, though its dial is turquoise rather than blue. Retailers often sell for less than the list prices here. Where we couldn't confirm that Amazon lists the exact watch, its Amazon button runs a search instead.

What you are matching

This is the watch every pick is measured against, the Oyster Perpetual 41, reference 134300-0009:

Nothing below has all of it. Only the Pagani leaves out the date and doubles the batons at 3, 6 and 9, and only the Longines is 41 mm across; the rest are 40 mm. The Tissot is the only one that runs on quartz, and every pick but the Citizen is water resistant to at least the Rolex's 100 metres. Above $5,000 we found no Rolex Oyster Perpetual alternative that looked enough like it to make the list, so the dearest pick here costs about a third of the Rolex's price.

Pagani Design PD-1690 Sky Blue (homage)

If the Oyster Perpetual's shape is what you're after, this is the closest copy here, as long as you can live with a different colour. Pagani gives it a domed, polished bezel, batons doubled at 3, 6 and 9 like the Rolex's, no date, and a three-link bracelet in the Oyster's pattern. The 316L steel case is 40 mm across and 11 mm thick, with a screw-down crown and a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. It's water resistant to 200 metres, twice the Rolex's rating, and Pagani names a Miyota 8215 automatic, with 42 hours of power reserve. Order the variant Pagani calls Sky Blue.

What you give up is the blue. Sky Blue is turquoise, closer to the turquoise dial Rolex offered on the earlier Oyster Perpetual than to the Med blue this guide is about. A triangle and Pagani's logo sit at 12 where the Rolex has its crown, the dial carries Pagani's water rating where the Rolex's says Superlative Chronometer, and the case is a millimetre narrower. The power reserve is 42 hours against about 70, and Pagani doesn't publish the lug-to-lug length. It lists at $190, about a thirty-fifth of the Rolex, and Pagani's US store had it on sale for $166 on 1 November 2026.

Tissot PR 100 40 mm (T150.410.11.041.00)

This is our pick for value, if you can live with quartz and a date. Tissot puts a smooth polished bezel on a round 40 mm case in 316L steel, with plain batons, doubled at 12, on a dark navy dial, and a three-link steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp. The case is 8.25 mm thick, the crystal is sapphire, and it's water resistant to 100 metres, like the Rolex. Tissot's US store had it in stock.

You give up the automatic movement and the empty dial. It runs on quartz, with a date at 3, and the blue is a good deal darker than the Rolex's. The case is a millimetre narrower, and Tissot doesn't publish the lug-to-lug length. It costs $350, a twentieth of the Rolex.

Citizen Tsuyosa (NJ0150-56L)

Pick the Tsuyosa if you want a blue dial and an automatic movement for the least money: it's the cheapest watch here with both. Citizen pairs a sunray blue dial and silver-tone batons, doubled at 12 and 6, with a smooth polished bezel, in a 40 mm steel case under an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Inside is Citizen's automatic calibre 8210, with 42 hours of power reserve.

You lose the Oyster's lugs: the case runs straight into an integrated bracelet. The date sits at 3 under a magnifier, which shows in Citizen's photo though its US page doesn't mention it. It's water resistant to 50 metres, which Citizen rates for still-water swimming, against the Rolex's 100, and the power reserve is 42 hours against about 70. The list price is $495, a fourteenth of the Rolex, and Citizen's US store had it on sale for $396 on 1 November 2026.

Monta Noble 40 (blue dial)

This is the one to look at if you want a Swiss automatic with the Oyster Perpetual's polished bezel and plain batons, and don't mind a date at 6. Monta polishes the case sides as well as the bezel, sets the batons on a blue sunburst dial with a double marker at 12, and fits a three-link steel bracelet with a quick-adjust clasp. The 316L steel case is 40 mm across, 10.5 mm thick and 47.8 mm from lug to lug, with a screw-down crown, a flat, bevelled sapphire crystal and a sapphire caseback. It's water resistant to 200 metres, and inside is Monta's M-22, a Swiss-made Sellita SW300 automatic, with 56 hours of power reserve.

What you give up: a framed date sits at 6, the blue has a grey cast next to the Rolex's, the hands are swords, and the crown guards change the case's outline. The only photo on Monta's page is small, so it looks softer here than the rest. It costs $1,895, about a quarter of the Rolex.

Longines Conquest 41 (L3.830.4.92.6)

This is the best-built watch here, and in the photos we compared, its blue is the nearest to the Rolex's. Longines' automatic calibre L888.5 runs for 72 hours, a little longer than Rolex quotes for the Oyster Perpetual. The steel case is 41 mm across, the Rolex's size, 10.90 mm thick and 49.10 mm from lug to lug, with a smooth polished bezel, and it's water resistant to 100 metres. The sunray blue dial has batons, under a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides, and the bracelet is three-link steel.

The date is the main loss again, and it sits at 6. A lighter blue ring runs around the edge of the dial, the dial is a sunray where the Rolex's is lacquer, and the lugs are broader and more angular than the Oyster's. It costs $2,400, about a third of the Rolex.
